Add Gear Section?

Postby Perry » Sun Apr 27, 2014 6:30 pm

There seems to be some interest in adding a new section dedicated to gear (for sale, trade, donations, discussions, reviews). Please share your thoughts... Would it be helpful to separate it from the other Outdoors-Related topics?

A penny saved is greater than a penny earned because you don't have to pay taxes on it.

That sounds like a wonderful idea! Also people could post of places/links that are providing deals to help others looking for specific gear.

I was gonna say no but I think LuckyYogi has a good point. I got my MSR snowshoes when someone here posted a link, and it saved me over $100. If it's no trouble for you Perry I'd say let's go with it.

I have gear freak tendencies, so I am for it.

Why not? In the worst case situation I could always get a job to pay for my impulse purchases

Thanks. It was helpful too when someone posted a deal on my Strava feed for a garmin at 50% off. One day sale. Wish there was some sort of feed for backpacking gear as well. I just dropped about $200 for a backpacking deuter pack after weeks of searching for coupons and deals. Apparently I missed out on a sale the day before :( So definitely. I'm all for a gear section. trade. deals. etc.
